Thursday, October 23rd, 1958: The Golden Era Baseball Association offseason is like a river. It ebbs and flows toward a sea of uncertainty. The next few months, though, are where a superior general manager really makes his mark: contract negotiations, trade talks, club assessments, scouting and minor league evaluations. Now that the 1958 playoffs are in the books, it's time for GMs and their staff to get down to the business of creating next year's version of their team.

Tuesday, October 21st, 1958: "When you wear Redlegs on your shirt," the Cincinnati skipper told the press, "you're good at something."
Indeed they are -- good enough to win the 1958 Golden Era Baseball Association World Series.
Today at Griffith Stadium II the new champions capped off a great season with a 3-2 victory over the Washington Senators to win the series 4-3. It was their 4th title. |
